DELIVERANCE MINISTRY: THE BASICS

16LHCD3-1 – Carla Butaud – FOUNDATIONAL DELIVERANCE
Carla starts basic deliverance by teaching us how to break generational curses as well as other demonic assignments. This puts us into a position to receive all that God has for us. It is written in Matt 12:29 and Mark 3:27 that we each have a strongman, a demonic force sent by the enemy to have the rule over our life. We bind that strongman and break his power so we can eradicate his influence and spoil his house. The Keys to the Kingdom, as named in Matt 18:18, belong to us so we can live a powerful Christian life. Carla comes against idolatry and death curses in our lives. John 11:44 “Lazarus was dead, bound head and foot with grave clothes and came forth.” Nehemiah 1:5 is a cleansing prayer of repentance to break generational curses of sin and death. Carla leads the congregation in prayers of confession and continues to break generational curses, evil soul ties, and death curses which include aging, a slow, gradual diminishing of life. The death curse is the ruler of all infirmities. Psalm 91:3 speaks of a “noisome pestilence”, meaning “any ill smelling, infectious, contagious disease or virus.” Receive your healing, the finished work that Jesus Christ accomplished by His stripes and death on the Cross.

Carla starts by reading a list of manifestations of a demon, saying there will be some of these you may think do not apply to you. She shares a testimony of tormenting thoughts as a child; fears of murder, abandonment, rejection, false guilt, and many more. She was given insight into the generational causes of all these manifestations. We in America are under the curse of abortion. This applies to men and women. A spirit of illegitimacy comes in when the baby is not wanted. At that time a spirit of death comes in to the womb that even if future babies live some are affected by this spirit. Carla shares a personal testimony of a sexual curse coming down her family line from great grandmother to grandmother, to mother, to Carla and her daughter ending with forgiveness, healing, and deliverance. This spirit runs closely with the bastard spirit. The upcoming abandoned children will be an awful generation. Carla says by her experience she knows how prevalent this spirit is in the world. It also causes men not to love their children. She closes with a prayer of repentance for the group present and for the sins of our country. Prayers for deliverance set many free.
11LHCD9-10 – Carla Butaud – FREEDOM FROM THE CURSE OF THE BASTARD
Does this sound like you or someone you know? Nobody loves you, you feel inferior, no good, no identity, have hurt feelings, feel alone, don’t fit in, can?t receive goodness, feel like you are always imposing on others, sad, oppressed, depressed, abandoned, have a death wish, sorry you were ever born and many more manifestations of this destructive spirit. It is a curse that touches everybody. It is the curse of the bastard. Once it is established it remains in families until someone begins to break the curse. In the Old Testament it called for a literal separation from the congregation. In the New Testament it means a lack of discipline. You never know what is in your bloodline. Carla tells of dreams of being abandoned as a child. Her marriage and children were not the fulfillment of happiness she was seeking. Deep depression set in. Her husband did not know what to do for her. When she got to the end of herself Jesus appeared to her. He revealed His love to her. Once you understand what the spirit of the bastard is and what it does you are ready for deliverance from it because that curse and spirit alienate you from God.

Pornography is affecting people everywhere in the world regardless of the socio-economic bracket, gender, race, age, nationality or occupation. Porn is high-level witchcraft and is as addictive as cocaine. The purpose of pornography is to arouse sexual excitement and lead people into sin. First, you look, then you desire, then you crave you must have what you see. Once satisfied it gives a false sense of peace. False peace is an idol. Sin, when finished, brings forth death. Walking after the flesh brings condemnation. Get rid of the sins tormenting you. Bring them to the light and let Jesus set you free. Carla tells about a boy who said he was born as a homosexual. Before his father and mother were married, his father had watched pornography. The evil spirits that entered him at that time were still operating after he married. Those unclean spirits were passed on to the baby boy before he was born. Satan will make you believe that perversion is better than God’s real blessings. The devil wants you for himself. Satan will claim you as his bride. Pornography is everywhere and is destroying families. Children are losing their innocence early. In this end-time, he wants to destroy marriage and gender identity. His plot is to destroy the family and thereby destroy the church. Whose side are you on? Deliverance prayers conclude this message.

We have become tolerant of many evil things. We have become agreeable with them. Sexual sins make one worthy of death. Pornography is about rousing sexual desire and perversion. Fornication is sex between a man and a woman not married to each other. Sex is meant for the marriage relationship when you become one. Each partner is connected to the other by soul ties. Glorify God in your body. Pornography gives a perverted view of what sex is. When perversion is brought to the marriage bed, it is defiled. Ye are the temple of God. Be ye holy. The Old Testament command stated Thou shall not commit adultery. In the New Testament Jesus taught, If you lust with your eyes you have already committed adultery in your heart. Could adultery be the root of a fatal, incurable disease? The stupid stuff we have done and forgotten about have left seeds in us that sprout and yield consequences. A ten generation curse affects 1,022 people down the line of one person’s sin of sexual perversion. We have all learned a lot of bad habits. Read the Scriptures to change those habits. Also, be on guard against familiar spirits that are attached to books and objects. Familiar spirits attract like-minded spirits. You have to forgive. Love and forgive that person, including yourself, and hate the demons. Carla concludes with deliverance prayers for all spirits named and their consequences.

Christians, take heed! If you have never had any prayer to release you from the occult powers which you have dabbled in yourself (usually in ignorance to what the Word of the Lord says), or your ancestors have practiced, by all means, listen to this message. The Word of God expressly prohibits going to a fortuneteller, consulting Ouija boards, reading horoscopes, being hypnotized, and many other occult activities. You are living under a curse and need to be set free and come out from under these powers. Understand and recognize that all occult involvement is considered sin and must be renounced and repented of. Many, many occult practices are called out as spirits in this service, and deliverance from these powers of darkness is ministered. Divorce, strife in the home, indifference, extreme fears, nervousness, and suicide are only a few of the numerous symptoms of occult oppression and bondage.

In the vein of deliverance we should all stay busy repenting of our past sins of ignorance – those actions that have created stumbling blocks in our Christian walk. **Erma puts the finger on the occult, eastern religions, martial arts, magic, false doctrines, reincarnation, and necromancy. We have all sinned. We have all been ignorant. It’s what we now do with truth and light that makes the difference. We must appropriate the blood of Jesus and come out from under the bondages. You can kick the devil out the back door, but until you repent he will come right around the house and park on your front porch! Deeply rooted spirits were cut loose during this service and deliverance was ministered with much intensity.
82LHCD4-24SAT – By Erma Miller – Moab-Incest
Erma says this teaching came out of an experience with a Moab spirit which is incest. It is so rampant in the US that it has to be dealt with publicly in the sanctuary. It is in every class of society. Incest can be between a father and daughter, a mother and daughter, a brother and sister, a grandfather and granddaughter, a grandfather and grandson, the teenage boy and his aunt. It is everywhere because sin is rampant in the nation. Gen 19:30 Lot and his 2 daughters committed incest. Both became pregnant. The firstborn son of the eldest daughter was called Moab, father of the Moabites. The firstborn son of the younger daughter was called Benammi, the father of the children of Ammon. In Deut 23:2, 3 – God put a curse on them. Israelites were to marry inside their tribe but not relatives and it is a law today in the US that you can’t and should not marry a relative. You can no longer do this because now you have heard it as being wrong. Men with lust in them and little girls who have a spirit of incest in them come together because the demons ally together and cause problems, so beware of that. The spirit of shame is of the devil. This is what Satan wants. God wants us to be set free but are we willing to be honest with the Lord. Any of us who have had any background of 400 years of incest in us will have problems with sexual misdemeanors, masturbation, lewdness, sensuality, adultery, fornication, perverseness, whoredoms, being frigid, torment, and fear, etc.; all comes with this. But God says He will deliver us; whoever calls upon the Lord shall be delivered. I Cor 5:1 taking your father’s wife is incest. Paul is reprimanding them because of fornication. Going to fortune tellers is whoring after other gods which is spiritual fornication or adultery. I Cor 6:9-20 – these shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. Erma gives an example, unless we are in the Spirit and clean ourselves those things can transfer onto us. We are in the world but we are not of it. We must submit ourselves to God. She closes with a prayer of repentance to the Lord for our forefathers and for incest, fornication, adultery, etc. Glen Miller prays in breaking the curses also.
13LHCD11-2 – Nickie Pinson – CAN I BE DELIVERED ?
To be delivered means to be set free or liberated, to be released or saved from, to be handed over, transferred, emancipated, redeemed or rescued. Ask yourself these questions: Is God able to deliver me? Is it God’s will to deliver me? Why is it necessary to be delivered? First of all, get your eyes on God, not on the person who ministers to you. Jesus asks us, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Remember the one time Jesus did not set the captives free? In His home town of Nazareth He marveled at their unbelief. They just did not trust Him and they held back. Allow Jesus to have access to your total being. It is all or nothing. Keep asking Him to change your heart. In fact give the Holy Spirit permission to change your heart daily. You only see what you want to be free from, But the Holy Spirit sees the root that is disrupting fellowship with you. This whole relationship with the Lord is all about fellowship with Him. Stay close so he can change your heart to where you long to be in His presence daily. But we have to come clean with Him. That might be why you are not getting deliverance in certain areas. He knows our heart and when we are playing games with him. Our unbelief limits Him, the Holy One of Israel, from setting us free. Also, there is no deliverance without true repentance. You need to hate that sin. What will keep you right is that bad feeling that comes when you offend the One who loves you and gave His life for you. If we keep sinning willfully then we in time become spiritually numb. And soon your not convicted about much of anything. Get back to square one. Cry out! Let him have your heart to change daily. He works though out all your Christian life as you keep moving forward. Spend daily time praising him and being thankful. Learn to be quiet in His presence so He can speak to your heart. We’re led by His peace. We make decisions based on it. So guard that peace in your heart always. Feeling a little out of tune? Just repent, to restore fellowship once again. They that are Christ’s will crucify their flesh with its affections and lusts. Otherwise those things will control us and we will not enter into eternal life with Him. No unclean thing is going to dwell there, it says in the book of Revelation. Be not self deceived. Personal ministry follows this teaching.

We are sinners from birth, we are sinful by nature. We are sinners saved by Grace. There is in each of us an old man, and a new man. The old man leads us away from the desires of God, he is corrupt and cannot be saved or cast out. The new man is implanted in us, it is the divine nature. We are the ones who determine daily if we’re going to put the old man off and the new man on.

Bro. Parish shares some potent truth concerning the root of bitterness. This Scripture based teaching is one of the most common sins in the body of Christ. Everyone should examine their lives to see if bitterness is there or has crept back in. It can take deep root in us and we aren’t even aware it is operating in us. It stops God’s blessings from flowing in our lives and can cause us to fall. We need to daily face each situation and forgive. Using 1 Peter 3:13-14, he said (about justifying one’s self), God said if you speak, I will be silent but if you keep quiet, I will speak on your behalf. Using King Hezekiah as an example (Isaiah 38:10,15, & 17) at the point of death he was a success in all areas but his sin was bitterness of soul. Bitterness is caused by not forgiving – holding on to grievances which build up in the soul and produce hatred, etc. Generally this is a result of being hurt by someone or set of circumstances. Forgetting and forgiving is an act of mercy. We bind people when we don’t forgive them and hold bitterness against them release them so they can enjoy life too! He asked the question, Who are you bitter toward? He gives numerous Scriptural reasons for bitterness: (1) Adultery, Pro 5:3-4. (2) Alcoholism, Isaiah 24:9. (3) Backsliding, Jer 2:19. (4) Family relationships, Col 3:19. (5) Social relationships, Lam 1:1-4. (6) Loss of loved ones, Ruth 1:20. (7) Loss of freedom, Ex 1:13-14. (8) Loss of health. (9) Loss of income. (10) Involvement in the occult. Norman concludes this excellent teaching sharing the consequences of bitterness and then prays for the congregation.
70DPCD3-7 – Derek Prince – STEPS TO DELIVERANCE
We don’t need to try and improve on the methods Jesus used just continue doing as He did. In Steps to Deliverance, Bro. Prince shares on the necessity for understanding that demons have an intellect and they will do everything they can to use that to your destruction. They have a will, emotions, knowledge and self-awareness and they can speak through the vocal cords of the one they are occupying. Another step in the deliverance process is to first determine if the problem is the old adamic nature or if it is demonic. You can’t cast out the flesh it must be crucified. You can’t crucify a demon it must be cast out. He addresses features that commonly indicate the presence of an evil spirit in a person’s life. For example: Restlessness (cannot sit still, always talking, obsessive, compulsive) Another strong influence is childhood experiences. He has found that well over 50% of the people he prays for, their problems can be traced back to their childhood. A child has a weak spiritual defense and if he or she is subjected to consistent demonic pressure, it is almost impossible for that child to keep those demons out. An atmosphere of disharmony and strife between father and mother automatically creates an atmosphere in which the children are subject to demon pressure. He looks at particular areas of deliverance, showing how, if you want deliverance, you can receive it. The message closes with prayers for deliverance. This teaching is given with such clarity and enhanced by common sense examples, really helping someone to understand the need for deliverance in the Holy Spirit filled believer. 69DPCD11-9 – Derek Prince – DELIVERANCE FROM DEMONS
Derek begins this teaching with Mark 16:15-20 which he says is commonly called the great commission of Jesus Christ. There are 5 distinctive supernatural signs that will follow preaching of the gospel. Every one of them is in the name of Jesus. 1. They shall cast out demons 2. They shall speak with new tongues 3. They shall take up serpents .. 4. If they drink anything deadly it shall not hurt them and 5. They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. These signs shall follow them that believe. Derek tells the story of David and Goliath and gives some interesting examples. He tells us he will speak on the first sign in this teaching. Demons and evil spirits are persons. We find reference in the bible they have personality, they feel and they have emotions. How do we identify the presence and operation of evil spirits – by certain distinctive marks. In the KJV possessed means “totally owned”. But the Greek doesn’t use these words at all. Greek only uses two phrases 1) to have an evil spirit and 2) as a verb, to be demonized. A totally possessed person normally cannot move around publicly in society. The majority of people Jesus ministered to were not in that category. Jesus said the thief cometh not but for to steal, kill and destroy. The devil never comes into your life except to do these three things. Main areas in our life are emotions, attitudes and relations. How do you distinguish between that which is the old, carnal nature and that which is direct intervention of an evil spirit. Certain marks come in a distinct pattern in the presence of evil spirits. Derek explains each: restlessness, being compulsive, demon is tormenting, defiling, demons make you unclean and are enslaving – you become their slave. In closing, Derek gives us an outline of six steps of God’s conditions of how to get free and he explains each – Joel 2:32. Submit yourself to God. These steps lead to deliverance: humility, honesty, confess your sins, renunciation of sins and contact with Satan, forgiveness of other people. Forgiveness is not an emotion it is a decision and to call on the name of the Lord Jesus – whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be delivered. Derek shares many examples and experiences throughout this teaching. He closes with prayer. Excellent teaching.

This message qualifies as a treasure in the vein of deliverance ministry. The title indicates specific ministry to children and youth, however, the message and ministry is a MUST for every age group. Many problems that Christians deal with originated in childhood. There are untold numbers of deliverances that have resulted from listening to Bro. Prince’s ministry to this group of young people. 71-CFODPCD-2 – Derek Prince – WITCHCRAFT, HERESY & FALSE RELIGION
The 3 specific problems addressed in this message are: 1. Witchcraft which is the domination of one person over another person or group of persons. 2. Heresies – departures from the Christian faith. 3. False Religions – religions that do not profess to be Christian. God Himself never invades the sovereignty of human will and God requires that we respect the sovereignty of each others will and personality. Derek expounds on each of these problems with scripture and examples. He believes there are things God has tolerated in the past that He isn’t prepared to tolerate any longer. If you have a spirit in your life you can use, it is not the Holy Spirit. No one uses the Holy Spirit. He is God. The Lord gave Derek a definition of witchcraft – it is the attempt to control others and make them do what you want them to. He gives instances of witchcraft via prophetesses in some churches and cases of people he knew. You can never be what God wants you to be when dominated by another person. On the subject of heresies – I Timothy 4:1&2 – people who have been in the faith and depart from it to false religious spirits which entice people further away. Religion is the devil’s main instrument to deceive and destroy the human race. Derek gives examples of false prophecy. Doctrines of demons – II Peter 2 – brings in damnable heresy – costs you salvation of your soul. Heresy means to choose. He gives more instances. Don’t believe everyone that quotes the Bible. He says anything that denies any of the statements in the Apostles Creed is a damnable heresy. I John 2:18-20 – spirit of anti-Christ – 1. Denies person of Father and person of Son but not God. 2. Denies Jesus has come in the flesh. 3. Denies Jesus is the Messiah. 4. Denies Jesus is coming again. Anti means against and in place of. All demons hate Jesus. And on false religions – John 10:9, 14:6 – The only way to get in the supernatural power of God is through Jesus any other way into the supernatural realm is through the devil. He gives some modern equivalents to the King James. To name a few; divination – fortune telling, observer of times, Isaiah 47 – monthly prognostication – horoscopes and many more. A wizard is male and a witch is female. He gives many other examples backed up by scripture. He closes with – How do you get straight if you’ve been crooked? If you’ve been involved in witchcraft how do you get free? 1. Confess it as sin 2. Renounce it – preferably openly 3. Break all contact – burn books, images, anything that dishonors Jesus and uplifts the devil. This message concludes with ministry for deliverance and confession of specific sins.
70DPCD3-8 – By Derek Prince – False Religions
He makes the bold statement, I suppose for every one person the devil deceives by atheism, there must be a thousand persons in hell whom he deceived by religion. False religion has deceived humanity down through the ages, century by century, in untold numbers. And this situation has not changed today. The Bible warns us very clearly that deceptions of religion are going to increase in a remarkable measure. And those that believe are going to be subjected to every kind of pressure to seduce them from their true faith. He deals with two main forms of deception in this teaching: 1) Departures from Christianity that is deceptions which claim to have their origin in Christianity, and often lay claim to the title of Christian. 2) Those types of religion or spiritual activity which lay no claim to being Christian. With reference to departures from Christianity, 1 Tim 4:1-5, You cannot depart from the faith unless you have been in the faith. This activity is traced directly to evil spirits or demons. They are called seducing spirits and the teachings they bring forth are called doctrines of demons. The ultimate goal of these seducing spirits is to win people away from the Lord, Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 2:1-3, False teachers in the church, privily bring in heresy that bring damnation. Heresy is not rejecting Scripture totally, it is choosing how much of Scripture you will believe. No heresy that rejected all Scripture would deceive the Christian. What is deceptive are those presentations that present Scripture but reject certain portions of it. The heresies this Scripture refers to bring damnation. They cost those who believe them the salvation of their souls. The devil does not begin with denial of the truth, he begins by calling them in question. For example: The serpent did not start with Eve by saying You won’t die. He did not immediately present the lie. He began by asking the question, Yea, hath God said? In other words, is it really necessary to believe? When Eve entertained his question, then he followed up with a direct denial of what God had said. The remedy for error is not to expose error it’s to present the truth. There are only two sources of supernatural power God and the devil. Derek takes the listener deep into the Scriptures that reveal the evil supernatural activities those which have never laid claim to being Christian. When he talks to people about the dangers of dabbling in horoscopes, Ouija boards, card reading, etc., they will tell him they only did it for fun. He tells them that in the Old Testament they would have been put to death for doing that for fun. Those using supernatural powers from the dark side are often right in their predictions sometimes with amazing accuracy but that doesn’t make it right it is still evil. His understanding of witchcraft is to seek to control other people by the use of a spirit which is not the Holy Spirit. He concludes this message with instructions of how to be free, prayers of confession, renunciation and loosing.

This excellent message includes over 50 questions and answers such as, How can you tell if the devil is counterfeiting the work of the Holy Spirit in your life particularly in speaking in tongues? Derek believes some people receive this falsely. It is not a normal thing or common but he says we will encounter it and gives an example. He tells us fasting is a part of spiritual discipline for every believer. No person is walking in the fullness of God without it. Fasting, properly done, builds faith. There are things in the Christian life we cannot handle unless we fast. He answered questions of how to deal with physical diseases and spirits of infirmities. The great weapon against the devil in all circumstances is the Word of God. Derek said he almost always has the person to pray, Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses and with His wounds I am healed. On the basis of that confession he gets them to renounce the spirit of infirmity. The same power that heals also drives out evil spirits. The devil chooses your weakest moment and weakest place. He gives response to questions on guidelines for small children. He tells of interesting experience he had concerning a woman with 72 evil spirits that each named them-selves when they came out. One, the seducing spirit, was the root of 37 different deceiving spirits for example eternal security, Jesus only, forbidding to marry, etc. He says the most dangerous spirits are religious spirits. They are twice as dangerous as all the rest put together. He gives a warning that there is a very narrow dividing line between the real thing and the wrong thing. Many more questions and answers concerning demons are addressed. Can demons inhabit furniture, is there a demon of sleep, etc. He recommends his booklet Expelling Demons which gives a list. In a question, are there families of spirits, he said yes, and gave examples of a few such as resentment, hatred, rebellion in one family. How do we know what is the root spirit? It is usually the first one in and the last one out. Derek says faith is the real thing not a label. He tells us healing of memories is not taught in these meeting and he does not think this scriptural. This teaching is full of information through questions and answers. He dismissed in prayer.

This teaching begins with explaining definitions of the word demon. The King James Version translates the two Greek words, which both are devil, as the knowing ones and slanderers but the slanderer is used normally as one person – Satan. He gives an illustration about Socrates. There are 3 interchangeable names: evil spirits, unclean spirits and demons. Demons are persons. There are 6 normally recognized marks of personality: will, emotions, knowledge, self-awareness, conscience and the ability to speak. Normally anything that possesses all 6 marks is called a person. Demons have all 6 marks. Derek gives scripture reference and examples of each mark. He tells us there is a difference between having a spirit and being possessed by a spirit. There are 3 phrases in the Greek to describe a person who has a demon problem: 1. To be in an unclean spirit as in Mark 1 2. To have an unclean spirit, used many times in the Word, Mark 1 and Luke 13, etc. 3. To be demonized Greek word is a verb KJV uses this to be possessed of devils and is not accurate. The problem with possession is it suggests ownership and most of these people belong to Jesus and are possessed by Jesus and not the devil but they are demonized. Remember Jesus only used one weapon against the devil – the Word of God. There are 2 basic relationships in which we meet demons: Inside the body – we must get them out expel them as Phillip said. And outside the body – the correct scriptural action is to resist and keep them out. Where do demons go? Into dry places searching for other people or back to you, if they can. I John 5:18, there is a way to live in which the devil cannot touch you. It is possible but it has to be learned. Derek closes with 6 characteristic verbs that describe the way demons affect people and explains each with examples. 1. They entice to evil 2. They enslave 3. They torment-spiritually, mentally and physically 4. They compel they are compulsive 5. They defile – make you feel dirty 6. They harass – weakest moment and weakest place both physically and emotionally. Derek sums it up saying the most outstanding word that describes people in need of deliverance. It is restlessness.

Man began by a union of divine breath with clay. Paul views the whole man as spirit, soul and body. Derek starts dealing with the distinction between spirit and soul. The first Adam was made a living soul. The last Adam (Jesus) was made a life giving spirit. I Corinthians 15:45, 47 – The soul is dependent on the spirit. A New Testament confirmation of the distinction between soul and spirit is found in I Thessalonians 5:23. Hebrews 4:12 – The only thing that can separate the soul from the spirit is the Word of God. I Corinthians 2:9-14 shows the believer a very important thing between soulish and spirit. The Apostle Paul gives us 6 warnings in the first 2 chapters of Corinthians. The spiritual man is not discerned by anybody. If you live in the realm of emotion you cannot live in the realm of spirit. In Jude 19 he points out people that are devoid of the Spirit. Other scriptural references are I Corinthians 6:17, Romans 1:9. In I Corinthians 14 we find that the baptism in the Holy Spirit brings out the difference between soul and spirit. If you receive revelation it will come from the Spirit. It is an exacting task to live in the Spirit. Then Derek goes into the third area of human personality – the body – the carnal Adamic nature received from Adam. Our body was made to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. What made your body? The Spirit of God. Romans 8:11 – God placed the spirit in our body. If you want healing you have to be in touch with the Holy Spirit. Healing does not come by doctrine it comes by the Holy Spirit. PART 2 – MINISTRY PORTION – This CD is the continuation of The Nature of Man 1 of 2 CD. You will hear unique ministry by Jesus through Derek. He begins by asking people to come who have been medically diagnosed with inequality in length of legs, and arms. This is a very informative teaching. Demons are real persons without bodies. The have all the marks of personality. They are active, intelligent beings who study you and know your weak points and weak moments and just how to get advantage over you. They have 2 main objectives assigned to them by Satan – 1. Keep you from knowing Jesus Christ, 2. If they fail in the first objective then they are to keep you from being an effective Christian serving Jesus Christ. There are 3 main phrases to explain the operation and activity of demons shown in the New Testament – 1. To be in an unclean spirit or under the influence would be modern English, 2. To have an unclean or evil spirit, 3. A verb – to be demonized. None justify the use of the word possess. Derek gives 7 descriptions of demon activity; they entice, they enslave, they torment, they compel, they defile, they harass and they deceive. Derek says one word to sum it up is restlessness. The main areas of human personality that demons operate in are emotions, attitudes and relationships. He gives specific examples of each. Sin is the root of human problems and there is only one remedy for sin. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Demons operate in gangs. Derek sketches out a few gangs for us. (Resentment, hatred and rebellion), (Irritation, impatience, anger, violence and murder), (Loneliness, self-pity, misery, depression, despair and suicide), (Thoughts, doubt, unbelief, indecision, confusion). Derek mentions several other gangs and gives illustrations of each. Heresies are departure from the Christian Faith – I Timothy 4:1. There are many, many, many seducing spirits, religious spirits, spirits of error and spirits that entice you away from faith in Jesus Christ according to the scripture. He shares an experience when 37 different spirits of error, that were under the shelter of the seducing spirit, came out of a woman and told him their names. He gives us useful information about addictions. The essence of heresy – II Peter 2:1. Heresy does 2 things – denies the Lord and denies His redemptive work on the cross. If you believe or entertain anything that touches or takes away from the Lord Jesus you are under the influence of a seducing spirit. Derek shares his beliefs about Jesus and anything that goes against these facts is a damnable heresy. He closes with prayer.

Two major areas that block God’s best blessings, allowing the devil to slow these down to a trickle or to stop them, are not forgiving and the occult. If you will not forgive, it stands as a wall between you and God. Unforgiveness is to seek revenge. Matt 6:12-14. In Rom 12, God says vengeance is mine. Release them to God. Matt 11:25-26 forgive that He might forgive you. Walking in righteousness, peace and joy is walking in the kingdom of God. Using the parable of the unjust steward, he explains that because of unforgiveness you will be turned over to the tormentors. God does not do these things to you; you do them to yourself by walking out from under God’s covering refusing to forgive. Start praying for God to bless the person who comes to your mind that has hurt you. If you want somebody to pay, you will pay. Matt 45:43, Jesus says love, pray for your enemies. God made every soul on this planet and wants you to pray mercy on them and He will be merciful to you – Luke 6:35-39. Dan 9:9 forgiveness is a gift of God. When your heart is right, God will give you this gift. Doc shares his personal testimony of a recent experience of not forgiving. This resulted in a near death experience and a 7 week hospital stay, much surgery, pain, etc. all resulting from unforgiveness. Forgive and if you have hurt someone, go and make it right. Forgiveness is the main weapon of spiritual warfare. Do you want to be healed, made whole and set free? Then forgive and bless the ones who hurt you. Give up revenge! Bring every thought into captivity. The key to standing against principalities is to be in agreement with those in authority and other prayer partners. Hebrews 12:1 tells us how to walk in freedom. Push out bad thoughts by thinking good thoughts. Dr. Null gives many Scriptural suggestions to help you daily walk in victory. But the key is you have to do it. The operative word is walk. It requires activity, discipline, making an effort being aggressive and on the offense. Walking is exercise whether it be spiritual or physical. Just do it.

Amos 2:9 “Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.” Dr. Null begins this teaching by showing the importance of removing the root cause so that the branch and fruit do not return. He explains how familiar spirits work in your life to cause problems. He looks at various root causes from the family. These include generational curses from sins of the fathers – abandonment, incest, rape, bastard, vagabond, poverty, whoredom, and abortion. Abandonment in your life can be real or perceived. Example of real is adoption or desertion. Example of perceived is early death of pet, friend or parent. Example of situational would be alcoholic parent, crisis in family, divorce, parental over-commitment to job, unwanted pregnancy, wrong timing, unwanted sex, abuse in family – physical, emotional, sexual, or verbal. There are others that can be added. All these can cause rejection to manifest with it’s evil fruit. Deliverance ministry follows this teaching.
