Bro. Wally uses Mark 2:4 as the setting for this marvelous teaching on God’s challenge to you. The Lord continually commands and challenges His people to do the impossible – “Take up your bed and walk” when you are crippled! But His challenge does not start with His final command; it begins with Him clearing out the fear and guilt in your life so you can believe and receive His healing and restoration. No matter what a person’s problem is, if you can get them to Jesus, into His presence, He’ll get them walking again. Bro. Wally also encourages us in that Jesus was not intimidated by the resistance He felt towards His ministry. When you do the work of Jesus, be ready to face opposition. But God will not abandon you in the heat of the battle! Anytime you begin to move in God and tear up man-made structures you risk the chance of being labeled a “vandal” but God’s deposit for you from this message is that tearing up is not necessarily vandalism.

This study focuses on soul ties, curses, and bands. There are invisible ties between human beings – dead and alive, between human beings and spiritual beings, and between human beings and animals. There are demonic ties, soul ties, ties of curses, witchcraft ties, and bands or bondages. Soul ties are simply the result of becoming one flesh, according to the Bible. There are good soul ties, such as those formed in the marriage union, and evil, demonic soul ties – those formed through fornication, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, etc. Curses are a type of demonic tie between the living and the dead. There are bands that bind us. These demonic ties are bands, bonds, fetters, cords, ropes, covenants, brotherhoods, etc., that have strength, might, and force over our lives. God has made provision for us to be totally free from everything that ties us and keeps us from being made one with Him. Deliverance prayers, confessions, and ministry conclude this service. Mark 3, 4 and 5 provide us with a theology of storms. On one side of the lake is teaching, on the other side, ministry. In between are the storms. Storms are not punishment from God, they are attacks from the enemy, a sign you’re on the right track. God uses them as quizzes to see how much of the teaching we have really absorbed, and to show us areas that still need work. When the storms are over, we know God in a new way.
